It’s Autumn… The weather is shocking, and Boe needs entertaining…. So today we decided to try a new activity – painting with cotton balls ❤️
We’ve not done painting together for a while, even though I know Boe loves it, and he has his own painting box full of so many colours and brushes, but my anxiety took me from being the mama who does messy play on a regular basis to…. Nothing 😭
But today I decided we’d add some art to our Autumn corner, and what better art than a tree full of autumn colours!
So I got out his painting cloth (an old shower curtain), his ikea apron and our brown, yellow, orange, red and green paints, 5 pegs and some cotton balls and laid them out with some paper on the table.
Honestly, he got stuck right in 🧡 and it was glorious!
Painting with cotton balls added some great texture for the tree, and it made a nice change from him just slapping some paint on the paper and smearing it all over the place… He loved drawing a tree this way and seemed much more engaged than I expected!
I think this is a new favourite activity for us… And I don’t have to spend time washing up paint brushes 👏👏 which is a nice bonus!
Boe found the jumbo pots of glitter in his cupboard, and insisted he sprinkled some on his tree 🌟 because you can never have enough sparkle in your day!
