Hi all! Well, isn’t the weather a bit rubbish today 🙁
To keep Boe occupied we had a big afternoon of baking! As he’s still only young, we didn’t do anything too taxing, just little cheesy puff pastry men (and a few cheese straws *yum* but they didn’t stay around long enough to take a photo ?)
To make them we used:
- Ready rolled puff pastry (ours was from Tesco)
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon of water
- Grated cheese
- Greased paper
- Baking tray
- Cookie cutters
- Have your little helper mix together the egg and water until it’s nice and runny.
- Pre-heat oven to 180°
- Unroll the pastry (unless you’re a clever mama and can make your own pastry) and start cutting your peeps.
- Using a pastry brush (or in my case, a fork hah) brush the egg and water mixture over each shape and then sprinkle with grated cheese – how much you use is completely up to you.
- Once they’re cheesed, pop them in the oven for 10 minutes.
- Then eat either straight from the oven (making sure not to burn yourself) or store in a container and eat when cooled.
We loved making these today, and surprisingly Boe was very well behaved and such a big help.
They’ve gone down a treat, so I guess we’ll be adding them to the regular makes list!
We’re ending the day with chicken stir fry now – what’s for dinner in your house?
Wishing you a good night’s sleep,
Kate and Boe xx
