Hiya!
Whilst I was on bed rest during my pregnancy (and those nights when I could not sleep after Boe came along) I spent many hours looking up random things on Pinterest (as I’m sure most of us have lol). I knew the type of fun I wanted us to have as a family, which included a lot of sensory play, and at the top of my list (after the giant activity box I made) was a glittery sensory bottle.
Sensory Glitter bottles are great, because they really keep babies attention and enables them to let go of any stress or frustration.
To make ours I used :
- A plastic drinks bottle
- Clear glitter glue
- Blue and silver glitter
- Pink sequin shapes (but any glittery confetti shapes will do) – for our second bottle we used pink glue with added love hearts
- Warm water.
(the links above take you to a couple of amazon products, in the hope to make finding items easier for you. Any purchases made via these links will earn us a few pennies via Amazon HQ)
To start with I put a HUUUUUGE dollop of the clear glitter glue in the bottle. I mean huge… Possibly half of my pot
Then I filled the bottle with warm water to about an inch and a half from the top, put on the lid and gave it a very long shake to mix it up. I then popped in a lot of blue glitter and gave it another shake, then added in a few squirts of the confetti glue, shook again and then popped the lid on extremely tight.
It mixed up pretty well, but to be honest it looked better the next day as it all mixed together more.
Boe has enjoyed giving the bottle a shake and watching the glitter settle since we made it, and to be honest even I’ve found it relaxing!
Look at it, all sparkly and pretty….
It still looks pretty when it’s almost settled…..
