Hey peeps!
So remember the posts that were floating around social media around the time of the new year with a little jar, with the idea that from the first day of the year you need to write something to pop in said jar, and then open the bits of paper on new years eve to remind yourself of all the good things that have happened?
Well, I FINALLY got round to making one lol. I know it’s now coming towards the end of March, but what can I say? I’m a busy lady lol
Isn’t she a cutey?
They’re so easy to make as well….
All you need is (may contain affiliate links from Amazon)
1 jar or bottle of any size you like (I used an old large coffee jar, but any pot that takes your fancy will do)
A collection of sharpies to doodle with or a phrase printed out to stick on the front, depending on what look you want to go for
Glue
Loom bands
Affirmations, quotes, wishes and memories that you’d like to save. I’ve made a little Pinterest board with various ideas, which you can view HERE.
I just used a big old coffee jar, washed it out, found a phrase on memories that I liked, printed it out and stuck it on. It’s nothing fancy, I just used pritt-stick and it seems to be holding well so far 🙂
Currently alongside a few memories and wishes is a number of affirmations that I’ve found online and a few positivity quotes that I love… I printed some out and wrapped a loom band around them and popped them in the jar.
Then when I have memories or wishes for the year to add, I just write them out on little scraps of paper and do the same as before.
It’s my little jar of happiness and every time I’m feeling a bit down or like I’m a proper shit mama, I open the jar and remind myself that I could be doing a much worse job ha!
Why should you make a memory / happiness jar?
Quite frankly sometimes life gets hard and we all have down moments of various stages.
The idea of these jars is quite simple – when life gets you down, your jar brings you back up again! And the best bit is you can fill them with ANYTHING you like… my memory for today was that we all sat in the sunshine having an ice cream 🙂
These are a few of my favourite jars that I’ve found recently:

2: I found this one on Pinterest but the page won’t ever load so I don’t know who’s jar it actually is 🙁
3: I love this jar. It’s also the website I got a bunch of affirmations and positivity quotes for 😉

Aren’t they great ideas?
